C’era un tempo in cui adidas regnava sui parquet del basket professionistico in mezzo mondo, gli stessi anni in cui sui campi d’America regnavano miti immarcescibili come Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russel, Oscar Robertson. Quasi mezzo secolo dopo, adidas sta rispolverando alcuni dei suoi modelli basket più classici: ad esempio le Basket Profi, lanciate sul mercato nel 1969 e di ritorno sugli scaffali nella prossima primavera-estate, con tomaia in suede, suola vulcanizzata e dotate del caratteristico rinforzo in gomma sul tallone. Negli ultimi anni, modelli simili sembrano essere tornati prepotentemente di moda, dunque non stupisce che adidas abbia rispolverato le Basket Profi. Quattro colorazioni disponbili, nessuna delle quali davvero sopra le righe: esagerare avrebbe significato snaturare un modello elegante oggi come una volta.

There was a time when adidas would reign over the world’s professional basketball parquets, when the American fields were dominated by immortal heroes like Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russel, Oscar Robertson. Almost half a century later, adidas is reviving some of its most classic basket models. A notable example is the Basket Profi, that was launched on the market in 1969 and is now coming out for the next spring-summer. They feature a suede upper and vulcanized sole, and exhibits the typical rubber reinforcement on the heel. Over the last years, such models have become (it would seem) fashionable again, so it is no surprise that adidas decided to brush up the Basket Profi. Four different colorways are available, none of them too eccentric because exaggerating would be altering the nature of a model characterized by elegance.
