Anche se non possiamo avere certezze riguardo alle origini di queste sneakers, possiamo comunque riempirci gli occhi con l’incredibile qualità costruttiva di suola e tomaia, entrambe intatte dopo quasi settant’anni.
Quotazione intorno ai duemila dollari: probabile che solo in Giappone si trovino collezionisti disposti a spendere cifre simili. Queste Skoots certamente potrebbero trovare posto fra le pagine degli splendidi libri fotografici di Rin Tanaka, uno dei maggiori esperti di abbigliamento vintage americano al mondo.

A model we discovered quite recently for the first time. We had only seen similar sneakers in the army stocks dating back to the Forties and used in the navy bases and military camps during the training sessions. So likely they were a military order agreed upon Converse and the US Army.
