Una – vera – chicca. Uno di quei modelli che fanno impazzire i collezionisti, notoriamente amanti dei piccoli particolari che fanno la differenza: in questo caso, si tratta del luogo di produzione. Le M730 di metà Ottanta erano infatti spesso assemblate in fabbriche giapponesi, proprio come le Nike del decennio precedente. Inutile sottolineare che il marchio Made in Japan sia sinonimo di altissima qualità costruttiva, che comunque non è andata perduta nel corso degli anni, nonostante il cambio degli stabilimenti in cui si effettua la produzione: le M730 sono ancora nei cataloghi della casa americana, e ancora riscuotono notevole successo fra i runner.
Difficile stupirsene, visto che il contenuto tecnologico di questo modello era all’avanguardia: tomaia ultraleggera, intersuola a doppia densità, sistema di ammortizzazione Abzorb incapsulato sotto il tallone. Certamente fra le migliori New Balance dei primi anni Ottanta.
